Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock - LG G Pad™ X8.3

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your LG G Pad® X8.3.
  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change the current screen lock setting on your device.

Knock Code

Knock Code allows you to tap a pattern to unlock the screen without turning it on.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps icon Apps icon
    Settings
    Lock screen
     (Device section).
  2. From the Screen security section (located on the right), tap
    Select screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    • Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    • Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. Tap
    Knock Code
    .
  4. If presented with a Knock Code overview screen, tap
    NEXT
     to continue.
  5. Tap an unlock pattern (at least 6 taps and use at least 3 different squares) then tap
    DONE
    .
  6. Tap the same pattern again then tap
    CONFIRM
    .
  7. Enter a backup numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap
    NEXT
    .
  8. Re-enter the backup numeric PIN then tap
    OK
  9. If presented, select an option then tap
    OK
    :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  10. To disable screen lock:
    1. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
    2. To confirm, tap
      CHANGE
      .

Pattern

An unlock pattern is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps icon Apps icon
    Settings
    Lock screen
     (Device section).
  2. From the Screen security section (located on the right), tap
    Select screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    • Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    • Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. Tap
    Pattern
    .
  4. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap
    NEXT
    .
  5. Draw the same pattern again then tap
    CONFIRM
    .
  6. If presented, select an option then tap
    OK
    :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  7. To disable screen lock:
    1. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
    2. To confirm, tap
      CHANGE
      .

A PIN is created to access the device.

  7. To disable screen lock:
    1. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
    2. To confirm, tap
      CHANGE

Password

A password is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps icon Apps icon
    Settings
    Lock screen
     (Device section).
  2. From the Screen security section (located on the right), tap
    Select screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. Tap
    Password
    .
  4. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters, including at least one letter) then tap
    NEXT
    .
  5. Re-enter the password then tap
    OK
    .
  6. If presented, select an option then tap
    OK
    :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  7. To disable screen lock:
    1. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
    2. To confirm, tap
