ASUS ZenPad™ Z8s - Google™ Backup and Restore

Here's how to ensure your Gmail, contacts, apps, etc. are backed up on your ZenPad Z8s.
Backups can't be restored from a higher Android™ version onto a device with a lower Android version.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:

    Settings Settings icon
    Backup & reset

  2. Tap
    Back up my data
    .
  3. Tap the
    Back up my data switch
    (upper-right) to turn on On indicator or off Off indicator.
    If prompted, tap
    OK
    .
    If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
  4. If necessary, tap the
    Back arrow icon
    Back arrow icon (upper-left) to return to the 'Backup & reset' screen.
  5. When turned on, ensure the appropriate account is listed in the Backup account field.
    To change the backup account:
    1. Tap
      Backup account
      .
    2. Tap the preferred account.
      If applicable, tap Add account.
  6. Tap
    Automatic restore
     to turn on or off.
When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset device.
