Samsung Chromebook Plus - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your Chromebook Plus.
Screen lock can't be fully turned off on the Chromebook. The Gmail™ password is needed to unlock the device.

Password only

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps icon
    Settings
    .
  2. In the People section, tap or click
    Screen lock
    .
  3. Enter the current password Gmail password for the account shown, then tap or click
    Confirm
    .
  4. The password is the main Gmail account password and is used to unlock the Chromebook. For help with changing the password, visit Gmail Support.

PIN or password

A PIN is created to unlock the device instead of the Gmail password.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps icon
    Settings
    .
  2. In the People section, tap or click
    Screen lock
    .
  3. Enter the current password Gmail password for the account shown, then tap or click
    Confirm
    .
  4. Tap
    Set up PIN
    .
  5. Enter a numeric PIN (minimum of 6 digits) then tap
    CONTINUE
    .
  6. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
    OK
