moto g7 play - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings
Here's how to configure Mobile Hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your moto g7 play.
- From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
- Navigate:.SettingsNetwork & internetAdvanced
- TapMobile Hotspot & Tethering.
- TapMobile Hotspot.
- TapAdvancedthen select an option:
- Manage devicesRestricts which devices are allowed to connect.
- Timeout settingsSets how long before the hotspot turns off after no activity.
Setup Mobile Hotspot
- From the Setup Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
- Network name (SSID)
- Security
- None
- WPA2 PSK
- Hotspot PasswordPassword can be changed.
- Select AP Band
- 2.4 GHz Band
- 5 GHz Band
- Client (DHCP) start address
- TapOK.
Manage devices
- To set allowed devices, tapManage allowed devices.
- TapAllow all devicesto enable or disable.Enabled when a checkmark is present.
- To add a device:
- TapAdd allowed device.
- Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tapOK.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary. When finished, tap theBack icon
(lower-left).
- TapDevice limit.Limits how many devices can be connected at the same time.
- Select an option (e.g., 2 Devices, 3 Devices, 10 Devices, etc.).
- Tap theBack icon
Timeout settings
- Select an option:
- 10 min
- 15 min
- 30 min
- 60 min
- Never turn-off
- Tap theBack icon
(lower-left).
