Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings - motorola edge+

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your motorola edge+.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network and internet
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap the
    Use Wi-Fi hotspot switch
     to turn on Switch on.
  5. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name (SSID)
    • Hide my device
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Security
      • WPA3-Personal
      • WPA2/WPA3-Personal
      • WPA2 Personal
      • None
    • Hotspot password
      Password can be changed.
  6. Tap
    Extend compatibility
     to configure the AP Band by turning the switch on Switch on or off Switch off.
    Turn on to use 2.4GHz hotspot or turn off to use 5GHz hotspot.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network and internet
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap the
    Mobile hotspot switch
     to turn on Switch on.
  5. Tap
    Manage devices
    .
    Restricts which devices are allowed to connect.
  6. To set allowed devices, tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
    1. Tap
      Allow all devices to enable or disable
      .
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    2. To
      Add allowed device
      :
      1. Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tap
        OK
        .
      2. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary.
  7. Tap the
    Backicon
     Back icon (upper-left).
  8. Tap
    Device limit
    .
    Limits how many devices can be connected at the same time.
    1. Select an option (e.g., 2 Devices, 3 Devices, 10 Devices, etc.)
    2. Tap the
      Back icon
      .

     to turn on Switch on.

    Timeout settings
    .
    Sets how long before the hotspot turns off after no activity.
  6. Select an option:
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 15 minutes
    • 30 minutes
    • 60 minutes
    • Never turn-off
