LG G Pad 5 10.1 FHD - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (password, network name, etc.) on your G Pad 5 10.1 FHD.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & Internet
    Tethering and Mobile Hotspot
     .
  2. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
     .
  4. From the Configure Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as preferred:
    • Network name (SSID)
      The network name can be hidden by tapping
      Hide my tablet
       to turn on or off.
    • Security
      • Open
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Password can be changed .
    • Max users
      Tap the
      Dropdown menu icon
      then select the number of users (1-10).
  5. Tap
    SAVE
     .

Allowed Devices

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & Internet
    Tethering and Mobile Hotspot
     .
  2. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap
    Manage connections
     .
  4. Tap
    Add to allowed devices
     .
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Choose devices by MAC address
      1. Tap
        Enter MAC address of the device
         .
      2. Enter the name and MAC address of the device then tap
        SAVE
         .
    • Choose from a list of connected devices
      1. Tap
        Choose from connected devices
         .
      2. Select (check) the preferred device(s) then tap
        DONE
         .
  6. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off .

Timeout Settings

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & Internet
    Tethering and Mobile Hotspot
     .
  2. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap
    Timeout
     .
  4. Select an option:
    • 5 min of inactivity
    • 10 min of inactivity
    • 20 min of inactivity
    • 30 min of inactivity
    • 60 min of inactivity
    • Never turns off
