Here's how to boot your LG G Pad 5 10.1 FHD into Safe Mode to help determine if an app is causing it to freeze, reset or run slowly.
Safe Mode puts your LG G Pad 5™ 10.1 FHD in a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze, reset or run slow.
An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
  1. Ensure your LG G Pad 5™ 10.1 FHD is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the
    Power and Volume down buttons
    .
    Hold the Power and Volume Down buttons
  3. Continue to hold Power and Volume down buttons until the System Recovery screen appears (about 10-15 seconds) then release both buttons.
  4. From the System Recovery screen, select
    Safe mode
    .
    Use the Volume buttons to cycle through available options and the Power button to select.

  5. When the device starts, 'Safe mode' displays in the lower-left corner of the screen.

  6. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality .
