Orbic Chromebook - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your Orbic Chromebook.
If you would like to change how you sign in on your Orbic® Chromebook®, follow these step-by-step instructions.

Password

Your Google™ (Gmail™) password is used to unlock the device. For help with changing the password, visit this Gmail Help page.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Launcher Launcher
    Settings
    .
  2. From the Security and Privacy section, click
    Lock screen and sign-in
    .
  3. Enter the current Password for the account, then click
    Confirm
    .
  4. Select
    Password only
    .

PIN or password

A PIN is created to unlock the device instead of the Gmail password.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Launcher Launcher
    Settings
    .
  2. In the Security and Privacy section, click
    Lock screen and sign-in
    .
  3. Enter the current Password for the account, then click
    Confirm
    .
  4. Select
    PIN or password
    .
  5. Tap
    Set up PIN
    .
  6. Enter a numeric PIN (minimum of 6 digits) then click
    Continue
    .
  7. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
    Continue
