One Talk T41S/SW, T42S, T42U IP Desk Phones - Check Internet Connectivity

Here's how to check internet connectivity on your One Talk T41S/SW, T42S or T42U IP Desk Phone.
  • The following is provided for informational purposes only. Contact your IT admin to verify the following info.
  • Verifying the IP address on the desk phone ensures the phone is communicating with the router; this doesn't necessarily mean the phone has access to the internet. See One Talk Ports and Protocols for correct internet settings on the router and desk phone.
  • If the desk phone doesn't display an IP address, contact your IT admin to ensure the desk phone is allowed to communicate over the business network.
  1. Check for proper installation:
    1. If not connected via Power over Ethernet (PoE), ensure the phone is properly plugged into a functional AC outlet.
    2. Ensure the Ethernet cable is plugged into the Ethernet port on the back of the phone.
    3. If not receiving an IP address from the router, try using a different Ethernet port.
    4. Ensure the switch or hub in your network is operational.
  2. From the Home screen, navigate:
    Menu
    Status
then view the IPv4 or IPv6 Address.
Confirm the IP Address with your system admin.
  3. If necessary, change the IP settings on the device to use only IPv4:
    1. From the Home screen, navigate:
      Menu
      Settings
      Advanced
      .
    2. Using the keypad, enter the admin password then press
      OK
      .
Default password (T41S/SW and T42S models): admin
      Default password (T42U model): @N3ta!k2@2*
    3. Select
      Network
      .
    4. Select the appropriate network interface (e.g., WAN Port, 802.1x Settings, etc.).
    5. Use the left/right navigation arrow keys or Switch soft key to select
      IPv4
      .
    6. Press
      Save
      .
