Verizon Wi-Fi Connect FAQs

Verizon Wi-Fi Connect is a free downloadable app that lets you connect to select international Wi-Fi hotspots with eligible Android™ or iOS devices on eligible Verizon Wireless international travel preferred plan.

You can download the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect app directly from Apple® App Store℠ or the Google Play™ Store.

iPhone® and iPad® devices with iOS 6.0 or higher, Android smartphones and tablets with OS 2.2 or higher that have an eligible Verizon international Travel plan.

To register Verizon Wi-Fi Connect on your device:

1. After downloading the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect app on your device, open the app to register.
   
2. Follow the instructions on your device to register. Depending on your device, you may need to enter your mobile number. On some devices, the mobile number will already be displayed for you.
   
3. Once your mobile number is displayed, tap the Sign In button.

You've successfully registered for Verizon Wi-Fi Connect.

On iPhone and iPad:

1. Follow prompt to join network.
2. Open the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect app.
3. Tap Connect to Verizon Hotspot to connect.
4. Once connected, you'll see "Connected to Verizon Wi-Fi Hotspot:" with the name of the International Wi-Fi Hotspot to which you're connected.
5. Tap Disconnect on this screen at any time to disconnect from the hotspot.

On Android Devices:

1. Open the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect app.
2. Available Wi-Fi hotspots in your area are listed on the Home screen under "Available Wi-Fi Network." Select a Wi-Fi network and tap Connect to join it.
3. Once connected, you'll see "Connected to Verizon Wi-Fi Hotspot:" with the name of the International Wi-Fi hotspot to which you're connected.
4. Tap Disconnect on this screen at any time to disconnect from the hotspot.

Verizon Wi-Fi Connect will display a map that shows all the select international hotspots. To see the international hotspots available, you'll need to have an Internet connection and your location services on.

No, Verizon Wi-Fi Connect is a free downloadable app that lets you connect to select internatioanl Wi-Fi hotspots with eligible Android or iOS devices on eligible Verizon global plans. To minimize any data charges for the download itself, you should download the app while still in the US and use a Wi-Fi connection.

No, if you're connected to a select international Wi-Fi hotspot, you won't use your Verizon international plan data.

If using Verizon Wi-Fi Connect, choose the hotspot selection on the Home screen. This will display a map that shows all the select international Wi-Fi hotspots.

Note: You'll need to have an Internet connection and your location services on to use this feature.

To help ensure you can find nearby hotspots, make sure that you have an Internet connection and your location services is turned on in Settings. However, there may be no international hotspots available in your location at the time.

Yes. However, the Verizon Wi-Fi connect auto-connect setting is defaulted to "OFF." If you want Verizon Wi-Fi Connect to automatically connect you to any select international Wi-Fi hotspots you've previously visited, go to Settings and turn Auto Connect to "ON."

To log off,  just close the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect app.
