Vtext.com FAQs

Vtext.com

    What is Vtext.com?

Vtext.com lets you send text messages to Verizon Wireless devices from your email. However, it's no longer available as a website that you can use to view and send text messages.

To send a text message from your email:

    1. Create a new email.

    2. Enter a 10-digit Verizon Wireless mobile number in the To field, and add "@vtext.com" (e.g., 9495551212@vtext.com).

    3. Send the email and it will be delivered to the recipient's mobile phone as a text message.

Message length is limited to 140 characters, including the email address. Vtext.com messages can only contain text. Multimedia messages can't be sent by email to a Verizon Wireless device using Vtext.com.

If you want to send and view messages from a website, you can use Verizon Messages (Message+). It's an enhanced messaging service that also syncs your messages across all your devices.

Note: If you have a business account and send high volumes of messages with Vtext.com, you should be aware of the following:

    • The vtext.com domain is not intended to be used for large volumes of commercial messages or emergency messages.
    • Due to the inherent limitations of internet email, Verizon provides no assurance regarding the timeliness or receipt of messages sent using this service.
    • Businesses and organizations looking to send a high volume of messages should subscribe to Verizon Enterprise Messaging.

How much does it cost to use Vtext.com?

There's no additional cost to use vtext.com, it's part of your Verizon Wireless service.

Do messages I send through Vtext.com count against my text messaging allowance?

Sending a Vtext.com message from an email address doesn't count toward your messaging allowance.

The recipient will get the message as a text on their mobile device, so they could be charged for a text message according to their plan.

Can I send pictures or videos in a Vtext.com email?

No. Pictures, videos, sounds, emoji, etc. can't be sent through Vtext.com. Messages must be text only. Additionally, only 140 characters of text can be sent in one message, including the email address.

Can I sign in and send a message at the Vtext.com website?

However, you can still send a text from your email to a Verizon Wireless mobile number by using the vtext.com domain (e.g., 9495551212@vtext.com).

Why am I being redirected to Verizon Messages (Message+) when I sign in to Vtext.com or try to register for Vtext?
