ASUS ZenPad™ Z8s - Power Up in Safe Mode

Here's how to boot your ZenPad Z8s into Safe Mode to help determine if an app is causing it to freeze, reset or run slowly.
Safe Mode puts your phone in a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze/reset / run slow.
An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the
    Volume Down button

  3. While continuing to hold volume down, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Fastboot options menu appears then release.

  4. From the Fastboot options menu, select
    Safe mode
    .
    Utilize the volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the power button to select.
    Powering up to Safe mode may take up to 45 seconds.
  5. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality.
